Betta Don’t run through the rain for Coors Light

Posted by B-Boy in Betta Don'ts

We were at the Death Cab For Cutie concert at McCarren Pool when an electrical storm approached. The venue lights starting blowing around from the wind as a massive storm blew in. They canceled the concert just before they were about to play their final songs and everyone was forced to squeeze through the exit in hopes of avoiding the rain.

We were right in front of our apartment as the rain started and we realized we had no beer in the fridge so we decided to run for it to the nearest open deli. By the time we made it back we were completely soaked but had some Coors Light in hand. The real losers of the night were the Manhattan and Jersey people who came out to Brooklyn for 3/4 of a concert only to get soaked trying to find the subway home.

Betta Do get a record player

Posted by B-Boy in Betta Do's

recordplayer

For Jimmy’s birthday, his parents gave him a record player. It’s prolly one of the best presents he’s ever received. The design of the player is so cool, especially the levers. We’ve already hit the local record shops and scoured ebay to build a collection. Come over sometime and listen to good tunes with us.

Betta Don’t get beat up outside Lokal

Posted by B-Boy in Betta Don'ts

lokal sucks

Last night, we were walking around our neighborhood trying to find a place to eat. We stopped by a new wine bar called Lokal to check out the menu. There was a crazy guy standing in front of the restaurant that thought we walked in on him in the bathroom. After incomprehensible yelling, he realized we weren’t the guys he thought we were so he turned back to his two lesbian girlfriends he was talking to.

Needless to say, we decided to try a different place to eat — one that lets you bring in your own beer.

Betta Do see MIA at McCarren Pool

Posted by B-Boy in Betta Do's

Friday night, we saw M.I.A. play at McCarren Pool.

MIA McCarren Pool

The show was better than expected — especially when she played her song called Jimmy. It was a great way to kick off the summer.
